Name: Ethan Fischler
Position: Wide receiver
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 182
Hometown: Orinda, Calif.
High School: Miramonte
2018 stats: Ethan redshirted this past season — his first on campus.
2019 projections: Going to be hard for Fischler to crack the wide receiver depth chart for the Syracuse Orange, so if we see the walk-on at all, it’ll be on special teams.
How’d he get here?: He was offered a preferred walk-on spot shortly before National Signing Day in 2018, and was happy to come aboard.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Nothing.
Money quote: Hopefully he provides a similar quote at some point in his Syracuse career. This one came after Miramonte came back from 18 points down to win 31-30 his senior year. Via the Mercury News —
“This was easily the craziest and most unbelievable game I’ve been a part of. We never gave up and hats off to El Cerrito for a great, well-fought game.”

Tweets of wonder: How about an Instagram post of wonder on this one?
What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Ethan Hawke played Jake in 2001’s “Training Day” with Denzel Washington. Would bet at least a few quotes from the film have been tossed around the Syracuse locker room since Dino arrived.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Though Fischler comes from California, he was born in New York City. So heading to SU was much more of a homecoming than a cross country trek to an unknown land.
Let’s get a look at ya: Syracuse.com’s Stephen Bailey nabbed some Oklahoma drill footage this spring.
Oklahoma drill No. 1: the defense dominated today. Here’s walk-on DB AJ Calabro coming downhill to make a couple stops on walk-on Ethan Fischler. Then a front of Zach Morton, Shaq Grosvenor and Drew Tuazama clogs the hole on third down. pic.twitter.com/vmngN6Kg4K
