Name: Abdul Adams
Position: Running back
Year: Redshirt Junior
Hometown: Landover, Md.
High School: Hillside (N.C.)
2018 stats: Forced to sit out the regular season, Adams came to play for the Orange in the Camping World Bowl, scoring two touchdowns in the win over West Virginia.
2019 projections: Currently listed as the backup running back and having cut weight, I fully expect Adams to challenge for the majority of snaps out of the backfield. Adams is a power runner and should help an Orange offense that struggled mightily in the red zone last year. If he’s effective from inside the twenty, the Orange are a much better team than last season.
How’d he get here?: When looking at schools to transfer to, Adams considered all sorts of familiar schools, such as Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Virginia. Ultimately, the relationship with H.D. Woodson assistant Wayne Johnson led him to ‘Cuse.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Four stars all around, with 247 Sports listing him as a top-15 running back in his class.
Money quote: Adams is impressing his teammates with overall talent and work ethic.
“He came here and it gave me a chance to see that’s a complete back,” [Otto] Zaccardo said. “He has great hands, great pass protection. He’s the total package.”

Tweets of wonder: I didn’t know this tweet existed until looking at Adams’s twitter, so thanks!
What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar appeared in classic 1980 comedy “Airplane,” a film I’d bet money on Dino being a fan of. If you’d like to get depressed, the new freshmen were born 20 years after that film came out.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Not to be a downer, but it looks like Adams is currently in a sling. Hoping this does not impact his timeline for week one.
Let’s get a look at ya: Here’s his first touchdown in Orange.
