Name: Cooper Lutz
Position: Wide Reciever
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 200
Hometown: Reading, Pa.
High School: Berks Catholic
2018 stats: Redshirt season
2019 projections: Lutz has been pegged as a player to watch as he fits the Syracuse Orange coaching staff’s profile for inside receivers.
How’d he get here?: After breaking his leg during his junior season Cooper’s recruiting slowed down. He had offers from Army, Navy, and Columbia, but he turned them down for Syracuse.
Money quote: During his recruitment Cooper noted that Syracuse was recruiting as a receiver and not as a running back which is where he played in high school.
“I’d rather play offense than defense,” he said. “It’s going to be a difficult change, but I’m going to work with my trainers and get better at receiver.”
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from 247 and ESPN but only two from Rivals.

Tweets of wonder: Context is important so let’s point out that this references the Philadelphia Eagles playoff motto and not anything nefarious.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: If I went with anything other than “A Star is Born” here I would upset John for sure. So let’s go with that one for this year’s Bradley Cooper pairing.
Interesting nugget o’interest: As an update to last year’s nugget we can report that Cooper’s brother is now a scholarship player for the Penn State Nittany Lions
"Baby bro @isaac_lutz is ON SCHOLARSHIP!"
