Name: Otto Zaccardo
Position: Running Back
Hometown: Sudbury, Mass.
High School: Lincoln-Sudbury (Also did a prep year at Worcester Academy)
2018 stats: Played a role on all four special teams units, mainly on kickoff coverage, kick return and punt return. Recorded one tackle on special teams while also getting eight carried for 25 yards in garbage time against Louisville.
2019 projections: It’d be reasonable to expect a similar role for Zaccardo in his final season with the Orange.
How did he get here?: He was recruited to play for Syracuse as a preferred walk-on in 2016.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Nada.

Tweets of wonder: We admire the full-hearted “steer into the skid” mentality from day one
Interesting nugget o’interest: The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman listed Zaccardo 49th in is annual ranking of college football freaks:
“One of the Orange’s top coverage guys on their outstanding special teams units, the 5-11, 207-pound walk-on is a powerful dude, squatting 615 pounds and benching 355. He also does 225 for 28 reps and hang cleans 320. Zaccardo is pretty fast too, clocking a 4.51 40 this offseason.”
What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Seeing as he is an athletic freak, what would be more fitting that watching Dr. Otto Octavius try to stymie everyone’s favorite spider in Spider-Man 2?
