Name: Qadir White
Position: Offensive line
Year: Redshirt freshman
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 313
Hometown: Bronx, N.Y.
High School: Cardinal Hayes
2018 stats: DNP
2019 projections: White worked some valuable time with the starters this spring, and has a shot to secure a backup position at one of the tackle positions or guard. It’s also important to notice he’s dropped over 20 pounds since last August. Given the overwhelming depth of the offensive line, White might have to wait until his redshirt sophomore year to see live action.
How’d he get here?: White committed to Syracuse prior to his senior season and had other offers from Boston College, Georgia, Miami (Fla.) and Rutgers.
What’d recruiting sites say?: He received four stars and was ranked as the 187th-best athlete in the country by 247sports and earned three stars from Rivals and ESPN.
Money Quote: Head coach Dino Babers wasn’t specifically talking about White, but he did address how linemen take a little bit longer to develop at the collegiate level:
“Then they get in high school and they’re just bigger than everyone. And then they get here and everyone’s big. There’s a change. They have to figure it out -- it just takes them longer.”

Tweets of wonder: Doesn’t tweet too much, but here’s a photo of Qadir after the spring game. At his size you can see how kids would be in awe

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: It came out seven years before he was born, but the 1992 film White Men Can’t Jump seems like a great fit. Even if White can’t jump all too well, his 6-foot-7-inch frame should help him just fine.
Interesting nugget o’interest: White grew up around five sisters as a kid.
Let’s get a look at ya:
Trying one more time: a look at OL going through run-blocking drills. That’s freshman OT Qadir White (76) working with veterans Cody Conway and Aaron Roberts. OL coach Mike Cavanaugh came over to provide a brief lesson on footwork. pic.twitter.com/8CMQRgpVew
