Name: Courtney Jackson
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Freshman
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 170
Hometown: Monroeville, Pa.
High School: Gateway
2018 stats: As a senior at Gateway, he caught 40 passes for 925 yards and 20 touchdowns, while also picking off three passes as a defender.
2019 projections: There are quite a few wideouts on the Syracuse Orange roster right now, so it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Jackson redshirt this year. Still, Dino Babers isn’t one to avoid playing freshman if they’re ready to go (more on that below).
How’d he get here?: Jackson was the first commitment of the last recruiting cycle, picking Syracuse over the likes of West Virginia, Boston College, Kentucky and Baylor (among others).
What’d recruiting sites say?: 247Sports and ESPN rated him as a three-star, while Rivals said two.
Money Quote: Babers said plenty about Jackson following the spring game this year, though still wants to see if he can take the spring progress and parlay that into the fall —
“He’s learning the plays, he’s doing a good job of catching the football and that’s always a big thing for a wide receiver. Now obviously he needs to go out and train this summer and see how he handles it.”

Tweets of wonder: Dino welcome tweets are usually winners.
No surprise the 1st commit is the 1st NLI in! That's because this guy is no talk and all action. Welcome Action Jackson to the Orange family! #BeTheA19ha https://t.co/xjSK3wBzas

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Speaking of Dino, he points out above that Jackson is first, and the speedy receiver likes to go fast. So... why not recommend “Talladega Nights?” As Reese Bobby says, and Ricky Bobby repeats numerous times, “if you’re not first, you’re last.”
Interesting nugget o’interest: Jackson was a three-sport athlete in high school, playing basketball and running track at Gateway. He was a first-team all-conference hoops player — the sort of thing several players on the roster can claim.
Let’s get a look at ya: If these are the clips SU wanted to highlight, you know they’re pretty good.
