Name: Trishton Jackson
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: (Redshirt) Junior
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 194 lbs.
Hometown: West Bloomfield, Mich.
High School: West Bloomfield
2018 stats: Jackson had to sit out the regular season for the Syracuse Orange, according to NCAA transfer rules. However, he was still eligible for the bowl game. He caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown in the Camping World Bowl win over West Virginia.
2019 projections: He’ll likely be able to pick up at least some of Jamal Custis’s targets, and appears able to line up at both inside and outside receiver. We could very well see him starting, which could mean 50-60 catches on the year.
How’d he get here?: Jackson attended Michigan State for two seasons, then decided he was taking his talents to Central New York instead. Given the success receivers have seen under Dino Babers at Syracuse, it probably wasn’t too tough of a sell.
What’d recruiting sites say?: He was a top-300 player for 2016, according to 247Sports, and they gave him four stars, as did Rivals (while ESPN said three).
Money Quote: Jackson expands upon Dino Babers making the call that Trishton won’t be trying to walk onto the Syracuse basketball team.
“At the end of the day, (Babers) brought me here to play football. I’ve got to respect that and I’ve got to respect myself, too, because I’ve always loved basketball, but I came here to play football.”
Twitter feed: Doesn’t have a Twitter anymore, because he’s a smart man.
Tweets of wonder: Thankfully for the Orange, his dream changed a bit.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: This makes more sense if you read the next section, but Dino would probably tell him to watch “Draft Day,” with Kevin Costner as the general manager of the Cleveland Browns. Did we need a movie about the draft given the theater that surrounds the actual event? No, we didn’t. Is it fine that one was made anyway? Sure.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Should Jackson parlay collegiate success into an NFL Draft selection, he wouldn’t be the first player in his family to do so. Jackson’s cousin is former Michigan great Braylon Edwards, who was picked third overall by the Browns back in 2005.
Let’s get a look at ya: Perhaps a glimpse of the sort of play-making ability we’ll be seeing from Jackson at SU?
