Boehiem’s Army now has an official center on its roster for The Basketball Tournament as Darryl Watkins has joined the team, per Donna Ditota.

Watkins played center for Syracuse from 2003-2007 and started in both his junior and senior seasons. At 6-foot-11, ‘Mookie’ gives Boeheim’s Army a low-post presence on the offensive end and a shot-blocker and rebounder on the other.

Since his Syracuse days, Watkins has carved out a nice basketball career with stops in Asia and Europe. He’s also played with Boeheim’s Army in the past.

With Watkins in the fold, Boehiem’s Army now has seven players in Brandon Triche, Eric Devendorf, John Gillon, Michael Gbinije, Chris McCullough and Hakim Warrick. Ryan Blackwell returns as head coach for the army.

TBT is a single elimination, $2 million tournament taking place in late July through early August. Boeheim’s Army is slated to play at the SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College from July 26-28.
