The Syracuse Orange women’s rowing team took third at the ACC Championships over the weekend finishing the competition with 75 points. The title was won by the Virginia Cavaliers who took their tenth straight ACC title with 95 points while the Duke Blue Devils were second with 90 points.
Syracuse’s best finish came from the First Varsity Four boat which finished in 2nd place behind Duke. The Orange also had third place finishes from the First Varsity Eight and Third Varsity Eight and the Second Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Four boats finished in fourth plae in their respective races.

Syracuse placed two rowers on the All-ACC Rowing Team: Megan Varcoe on the First Team and Sydney Michalak on the Second Team. Both Varcoe and Michalak were part of the First Varsity Eight boat.

With only sixteen bids for the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships the Orange will wait to find out their fate tomorrow evening when the field is announced.
