Eric Dungey signs with the New York Giants

Dungey and Dixon and Slayton reunited!

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Boston College Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Good news for Syracuse Orange football fans who also root for the New York Giants as Eric Dungey announced on Thursday evening that he has signed a free agent contract with the team.

Dungey will join the Giants for their rookie minicamp and if he can impress the team enough to be back for the training camp this summer he’ll join his former Cuse teammates Chris Slayton and Riley Dixon.

The Giants just drafted Duke Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones with their 2019 1st-round pick and the team has stated that Eli Manning remains their starter. The other quarterbacks that Dungey will be competing with are Kyle Lauletta and Alex Tanney. Since the Giants used early round draft picks on both Jones and Lauletta the odds are going to be against Dungey earning the 3rd QB spot.

Of course there is a possibility that the Giants decide to move on from Eli and turn the team over to their rookie quarterback. Should that happen Giants fans will have to adjust to seeing their QB escaping the pocket and delivering his signature running knee to unsuspecting defenders.
