The Syracuse Orange outdoor track and field squads head into competition this weekend with several athletes holding spots in the top 15 in the ACC rankings. The Orange have already seen two school records set in the 10k and it’s no surprise that Paige Stoner and Iliass Aouani are the fastest in the conference so far in 2019. The duo also ranks highly on the NCAA list with Stoner 2nd and Aouani 7th so far this season. Laura Dickinson is 5th and Madeleine Davison is 11th in the women’s 10k while Joe Dragon and Dom Hockenbury are 13th and 14th for the men.

In the 5k, Rachel Bonner holds the top spot on the women’s side with Abigail Spiers 15th. For the men, Aidan Tooker and Matt Scrape are 2nd and 5th respectively with Nathan Henderson and Noah Beveridge 14th and 15th. Tooker’s time ranks 8th in the country and he has yet to make his steeplechase debut

The 110m hurdle duo of Matt Moore and Richard Floyd hold 5th and 6th right now with Andrew Aguilera 15th. In the women’s sprints Dasia Pressley is 11th in the 200m dash while Alexis Crosby is 14th in the 400m. Aviana Goode ranks 8th in the women’s high jump

With members of the team heading to Miami and Bucknell to compete and earn more ACC qualifying marks we’ll see if others can join this group. The next couple of meets are about the Orange getting as many athletes to achieve these times so the team has more options next month at the ACC Championships.
