When we last checked in with the world’s most famous Syracuse Orange fan, Queen Elizabeth II, she was subtly showing support for New York’s College Team with a bright orange hat paired with blue. Nearly two years later, she’s over subtlety and is just going to come out and say she rides with SU.

First off, that hat’s lit. Second, how do we get it sold on Marshall Street?

The Queen of England wore bright orange in her first Instagram post, no doubt as a nod to Syracuse in advance of Saturday’s men’s basketball game against Clemson and the Orange women’s team’s current run in the ACC Tournament. Last time around, simply sporting an orange hat was a way to appear neutral. We appreciate her being emboldened to do no such thing this time.

And might there be even more to the orange-centric ensemble? As (Syracuse alum) ESPN’s David Hale posits, she’s probably wearing a Buddy Boeheim jersey beneath the jacket as well. With luck, it’s the version with the name spelled right.

So for the members of Orange Nation hanging around London (I’m sure plenty of undergrad readers are currently studying abroad and could be in the neighborhood), be sure to stop by Buckingham Palace and nod to the Queen while sporting some ‘Cuse gear. Plus, if you listen hard enough twice a day, Big Ben whispers “and Georgetown still sucks” after striking 12... at the behest of the Queen, of course.
