Finally, the Syracuse Orange are back in the NCAA Tournament following a (checks calendar) 12-month hiatus. So we’re going to hang a left on Jabroni Drive, head straight down Know Your Role Boulevard and check someone into the Smackdown Hotel. Let’s see who the next guest will be:
Opponent: Baylor Bears
Location: Waco, Tex.
Students: 17,217
The 2019 Fake Nunes Equation of Tumult (#FNET)
You wanted something more ridiculous than RPI well the NCAA gave you NET and we give you the FNET
Head Coach Bench Attire:
Scott Drew comes from a basketball family so it’s fitting that he dresses like how you’d expect a college basketball coach to dress. I mean this guy is ready to play the opposing coach in an ABC Family movie.
Advantage: Syracuse because Orange looks better than gold.
NBA 2K Playability:
Baylor’s guard heavy line-up could allow you to annoy your opponent by forcing them to guard everyone on the perimeter. Let’s face it you’d love to bury a step-back jumper and scream “Makai”.
Advantage: Baylor as long as you don’t choose the highlighter uniform option
Basketball Program Hashtag:
#CuseMode vs #SicEm and #1TGF
Okay, first of all Baylor pick a hashtag and stick with it. Secondly, numbers as letters is so 2017 so we give you no #Re2pect on this one but we do have to admit we are thankful for not trying to do #SicEmMode.
Advantage: Syracuse
ACC Social Media Favorites:
People are sick of Syracuse winning games in the NCAA Tournament after escaping the bubble. Scott Drew took a job that many people thought would be impossible to succeed in and has turned the Bears into a solid program as well as a sanctuary for point guards from Northeast schools.
Advantage: Baylor
Boeheim Jacket Toss Meter
8.9/10 In the altitude of Salt Lake City Jim might find it helpful to not be restricted by his jacket on the sidelines. We also know what the numbers say so the chances seem very high that Jim’s tossing somewhere around the 10-minute mark of the second half.
Prediction:
If you’re on the East Coast we kindly suggest you get some caffeine in your system prior to tip-off. These teams like to play it slow so this sets up to be one of those tough to watch 58-54 games and those are exactly the games Syracuse loves to play in March so we think they #surviveandadvance in this one.
