Welcome to college football’s 2019 National Signing Day! After adding 17 players during the early signing period in December, the Syracuse Orange are hoping to finish the class strong today. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up is defensive end Steven Linton.
Twitter feed: @Stevenlinton12
Hometown: Dublin, Ga.
High School: Dublin
Position: Defensive End
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 195 lbs.
Ratings: Three stars all ‘round
Other offers: Linton picked Syracuse over four other finalists: Missouri, Arizona State, and USF.
Dino’s predicted nickname: “Luck of the Irish,” because he’s from Dublin.
Highlights:
Player outlook: With both Alton Robinson and Kendall Coleman returning, Linton will probably see a redshirt next season. Yet, after the two seniors graduate, he has a chance to take over the starting pass rusher role. Linton will have competition there, of course (including from several names in this 2019 class), but should see at least a few snaps in season two.
