The 2019 Syracuse Orange football season is closer than you think, as spring practice gets going this Sunday, March 3.

On Wednesday, SU announced the official dates for all practices and the spring game — “SPRING FOOTBALL SATURDAY” — which occurs at 1:30 p.m. ET on April 13.

In total, Syracuse will hold 15 practices (including the spring game), with 12 of those being open to media to some extent. That full schedule is below:

  • Sunday, March 3
  • Tuesday, March 5
  • Thursday, March 7
  • Tuesday, March 19
  • Thursday, March 21
  • Saturday, March 23 (closed)
  • Tuesday, March 26
  • Thursday, March 28
  • Saturday, March 30 (closed)
  • Tuesday, April 2
  • Thursday, April 4
  • Saturday, April 6 (closed)
  • Tuesday, April 9
  • Thursday, April 11
  • Saturday, April 13 (spring game)

We’ll share what we can from practice. In general, Dino Babers has kept things pretty limited during offseason practices to avoid giving much away about Syracuse’s schemes on both sides of the ball. But there’s some player availability, along with opportunities to talk to Babers as well, so hopefully we can get some interesting nuggets there (Dino rarely disappoints in the quote department, after all).

An updated roster and potential depth chart are expected before Sunday. We took a crack at what those might look like on both offense and defense back in January, so we’ll see how right (or wrong) we were soon.

We’ve also been going position-by-position with previews already, with wide receivers and tight ends going up tomorrow (see: quarterbacks, running backs).

Have any major questions going into Sunday’s initial practice? Let’s chat some football.
