After our launch of The Official Jim Boeheim Jacket Toss Tracker™ a couple of weeks ago, we know that this is a thread that Syracuse Orange fans want to see us continue this yarn throughout the rest of the season.
Everyone in the 315 had been focused on the Duke game but Jim Boeheim wasn’t going to let his team get out of pocket against the Louisville Cardinals. Even with a 44-28 lead in the second half, a pair of turnovers against the Cardinals press resulted in Boeheim shedding his jacket as quick as Oshae Brissett was undressing smaller defenders.
Against the Duke Blue Devils Boeheim tried to stem the momentum of a Blue Devils run by ditching the coat with the Orange trailing 58-52. Unfortunately Syracuse was as effective shooting the ball as the jacket would have been and were unable to rally. This marks the 3rd time that Boeheim has lost the jacket with Syracuse trailing and the Orange have lost all three games.

We’ll see if Jim looks at these numbers and goes with a jacket toss before the Orange give up a lead. The data suggests that if Syracuse gets a halftime lead on the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill then Jim should just leave his jacket in the locker room.
