Video: Is this already a lost season for Syracuse men’s basketball?

Bobby Manning and the DO’s Josh Schafer discuss on a video edition of the Syracuse Basketball Podcast.

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team lost its third straight game, a streak that pushed the Orange into the bottom of the ACC not only in wins, but in defensive rebounding percentage. Only Boston College and Miami rebound fewer opponent misses.

Buddy Boeheim and Joe Girard III combined to shoot 5-for-34 from three over the losing streak, which could continue on the road against Georgia Tech and Georgetown this next week. Far from Syracuse’s only issues, it feels like the only silver lining for SU the rest of this season is turmoil at Georgetown granting an opportunity for a road win in non-conference.

Otherwise, as Jim Boeheim said on Tuesday, it’s all bad. Syracuse lost to Iowa 68-54 while getting pummeled inside, missing shots and fading away with minutes remaining in what was a one-possession game at halftime.

With the Orange off to their worst start since 1970-71, the program’s recent development track record and a thin recruiting class for 2020 — is this already a lost season for SU?

Bobby Manning and the Daily Orange’s Josh Schafer discussed from the Dome. Listen to Bobby and James Szuba on the Syracuse Basketball Podcast earlier this week discussing the struggles in Brooklyn — and follow CLNS Media for more Syracuse basketball and NCAA videos.
