Yet another name has been (tentatively) added to the Syracuse Orange football recruiting class for 2020, just ahead of National Signing Day on Wednesday, December 18th. On Sunday, wide receiver Ja’Vontae Williams has announced on Twitter that he has committed to the Orange.

Williams is a 6-foot-1, 192 pound wide receiver from Glades Central in Belle Glade, Florida. The Belle Glade native is listed as a consensus three star recruit and can be a quality target in the passing game moving forward.
Other schools offering Williams included Oregon, Miami, Indiana, Illinois, USF, and FIU among others. A solid offer sheet for the wideout overall. He took his official visit this weekend, and while present at Syracuse, gave Coach Babers, something to be excited about in the coming week.
Per his tweet, Williams seemed a risk to qualify, and ultimately made the grade, which will put a talent who was initially targeted by those big name schools in the program. Another solid addition and a good get for Nick Monroe, and Justin Lustig.
As the second receiver added for 2020, he joins fellow Floridian Damien Alford as well as New Jersey prospect and athlete recruit who will likely play receiver, Trebor Pena in the group. He’s also the fourth Florida get on the year, which is a nice pipeline to keep open.
