Jim Boeheim’s probably never going to coach a game without a tie on. When he’s sitting there scrunching his face and picking his nose, your wife is going to be thankful you aren’t acting like him.

Advantage: Virginia and are you really going to argue with that call?

NBA 2K Playability:

Both teams are replacing a lot of offense from last season. Virginia’s success has relied on a stout defense and a methodical, efficient offense. Syracuse looks like a team that will rely on the 3-pt shot this season but we also think Elijah Hughes’ initial ranking would be lower than you think.

Advantage: Syracuse because you don’t play video games to show off a stifling defense.

Hold the phones here. Syracuse has not been using a hashtag in the pre-season so could we finally see the retirement of the hashtag which shall not be named? I’m going to hold off on celebrating until the season starts but stay tuned for more on this potential breaking news story.

This isn’t even close. Even without all the Kyle Guy/Ty Jerome love you still have everyone fawning over Bennett and Kihei Clark. You have to feel bad for Elijah Hughes and Marek Dolezaj who would probably be more well-liked if the media didn’t let their Boeheim bias influence them.

8.7/10 Back again for the 19-20 season and we start off the year on high alert. The temperatures aren’t supposed to drop until later in the week which means the Dome could be a little warm. Opening up against the defending champs with an inexperienced squad is sure to have Jim looking for every edge.

If Syracuse wants to “Shock the System” getting a victory over the defending champions is a great way to do so. This Cavaliers team is looking to hit an Undisputed Era atop the ACC and hopefully Jim Boeheim (Bay-Bay) has his team ready to deliver the Boom.

Prediction:

It’s a late tip-off and Syracuse fans are already on edge from this football season. A win for the Orange would really kick off Irrational Optimism Season™ while a loss (even if the more likely outcome) will have some people turning to lacrosse season. It’s going to be a lot closer than last year but Virginia’s edge on the inside is going to let the Cavaliers sneak out a close victory.
