After a rough defensive day for the Syracuse Orange, there was finally some good news to come out of the Dome. Defensive end/outside linebacker Latarie Kinsler, a Pahokee, Florida native, committed to Syracuse this evening, looking to enroll in January. Kinsler is rated a four star prospect by Rivals and three star by the rest of the recruiting sites. Overall, he’s the highest rated prospect in the current 2020 class and a great get for the Orange.

The 6-foot 3-inch pass rusher had a good deal of interest from some very good schools. His impressive list includes Penn State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Miami, USC, Oregon and LSU among the twenty six offers that were extended to him. He took numerous officials, including Syracuse back in June, and then Oregon, Louisville and Nebraska over the last few months.
Apparently he took a liking to defensive backs coach Nick Monroe and the rest of the coaching staff, as the visit held up and he has committed to Syracuse. Kinsler looks to be an early enrollee and will hopefully be on campus in January.
