The Syracuse Orange football team will open as double-digit underdogs against the Duke Blue Devils this weekend.
Despite Duke losing by 30-plus to Notre Dame this past week, the Blue Devils were still seen as 10-point underdogs to start the festivities, according to VegasInsider.com.
Duke’s 3-0 against Syracuse in the all-time series, having last won in a 27-10 game back in 2014. Before that, the Orange lost two separate contest back in the 1930s. This has been a fairly one-sided series in favor of the Blue Devils.
Coming into this one, Duke has lost three straight to Virginia, UNC and Notre Dame, respectively. Meanwhile, the Orange have dropped four in a row in ACC play leading to a 3-6 record that puts them on the verge of missing a bowl bid this December.
If Syracuse is going to right the ship, it obviously starts here. SU and Duke kick off at 4 p.m. ET on ACC Network. Clearly the Orange need to take home wins in each of the next three games to get tehmselves bowl eligible.
