Matching ACC MBB teams to Taylor Swift songs

We use the Final Four headliner’s songs to look at the conference

[Ed. note: John does not endorse any positive sentiment toward Taylor Swift that could be derived from this piece]

Now that we know that Taylor Swift will be headlining the Captial One Jamfest concert at the 2020 NCAA Final Four in Atlanta, let’s just go ahead with a completely unauthorized TNIAAM #jokesandgarbage piece. Yep we’re going match each ACC Men’s Basketball team to one of T-Swift’s songs and as much as you’re going to pretend you don’t like it we all know you’ll be in attendance in Atlanta in April.

Boston College Eagles- “Wildest Dreams”

Ky Bowman’s departure and the pre-season injury to Wynston Tabbs have left the Eagles’ NCAA hopes appearing to be just a dream.

Clemson Tigers- “...Ready for It?”

Are the Tigers ready to get back to the NCAA Tournament? Vice Principal Brownell’s wardrobe might suggest that no, they are not in fact ready.

Duke Blue Devils- “Shake It Off”

Coach K’s crew fell short last year even with all that talent. Now they reload with another stellar recruiting class and the return of Tre Jones but will it be enough to get to Atlanta?

Florida State Seminoles- “You Belong With Me”

Of course we’re talking about Leonard Hamilton and that sweet black mock turtleneck. Smoooooooth.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets- “Blank Space”

With NCAA postseason punishment for Georgia Tech this year Josh Pastner’s crew is playing the regular season with nothing waiting for them in March.

Louisville Cardinals- “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”

The immediate success of Chris Mack in Louisville firmly closed the door on any lingering Rick Pitino sentiments. It’s ok Rick you’ll always have the vacated title and the white suit.

Miami-Florida Hurricanes- “Wonderland”

South Beach is a great place to spend your winters and if you’ve got Chris Lykes on your roster it’s even better. Even if you aren’t winning it beats spending January taking bus trips from DC to Boston.

North Carolina Tar Heels- “I Knew You Were Trouble”

Cole Anthony opened his collegiate career by dropping 34 points on Notre Dame. We knew he was really good and he’ll be trouble for ACC teams all year.

N.C. State Wolfpack- “Bad Blood”

The team that’s overlooked in the Triangle has revenge on their mind as this experienced and talented roster looks to make a run at an ACC title.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish- “Style”

Whether he’s going mock turtleneck, Hawaiian shirt or regional director at the end of a sales conference, Mike Brey’s always bringing his “style” to the sideline.

Pittsburgh Panthers- “Soon You’ll Get Better”

Jeff Capel’s young backcourt might not make a big leap this season but the Panthers’ future sure seems to be looking up.

Syracuse Orange- “Look What You Made Me Do”

After a few years of playing offense at a slow tempo it seems as though Jim Boeheim’s going to have to get back to the 80s style of run and gun with the Orange. He might not be happy about it so be ready for him to assign the blame to everyone.

Virginia Cavaliers- “End Game”

The NCAA Championship which had eluded Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers was captured last season. That erased any lingering doubts about his ability to win and swept away the heartache of March defeats to Syracuse and the UMBC Retrievers.

Virginia Tech Hokies- “Everything Has Changed”

Mike Young takes over for Buzz Williams and doesn’t have Kenny Blackshear. We don’t think the Hokies will win as often but we can guarantee a lot less sweating on the Casell Coliseum sidelines.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons- “Delicate”

Danny Manning seems like a nice guy. He delivered a miracle title to the Kansas Jayhawks but at some point he’s got to get Wake moving in the right direction or else it’ll be time to try someone else in Winston-Salem.

There you have it. The completely unauthorized ACC BB/T-Swift article- a piece you wouldn’t dare find anywhere else on SBNation.

And if you don’t like this well here’s a little message from Taylor and me.
