The Syracuse Orange are coming off their bye week looking at a Thursday night ACC game at the N.C. State Wolfpack. Both schools enter the contest at 0-1 in conference play, with a mixed bag of results for oddsmakers to base the opening line on.

BetOnline has set the opening line for the game with the Wolfpack as a 3-point favorite (so it’s pretty much a push with NC State getting the nod via home field advantage). This isn’t too shocking as the Orange and Wolfpack are within 10 places of each other in SP+, and I would bet most people think this game is some kind of toss up.

The line seems unlikely to change as dramatically as the Orange saw versus Western Michigan (the last time they had a line open on a Sunday), but it will be interesting to see if nationally, people trust State’s recent consistency or still hold onto the 10-win season from last year for the Orange.

Regardless, last year’s game was a shootout that was great television wire to wire (which SU won 51-41 to clinch bowl eligibility if you forgot). This year’s contest will most likely have less fireworks, but be even closer. So #Pray4John, who will be in attendance and likely pretty stressed out all evening.
