Against the Florida State Seminoles, there weren’t a ton of changes on the depth chart for the Syracuse Orange. On the field however, we saw some things that adjusted the personnel through either injury or off field happenings. Some of this is reflected in the depth chart that was released on Monday evening, heading into the week 10 matchup with the Boston College Eagles.
The offensive line gets a bit of a shakeup with the removal of Ryan Alexander, pushing Matthew Bergeron to the top of the right tackle position. Bergeron aptly filled in this week, with the tackle looking the part against a FSU pass rush that may not be Pitt or N.C. State, but are still a talented group. Also on the line, while still listed as the number one, Dakota Davis picked up snaps in the second half of the game against Florida State, so that may be a minor question mark. Patrick Davis is the listed backup and played last week after the injury.
On the defensive line, Brandon Berry gets the OR as the second string defensive tackle, getting some run there last week. The redshirt senior is finding ways to get on the field and looking pretty good in his time, making the most of the opportunity.
At the nickel, it looks as though Antwan Cordy will be the official backup to Trill Williams, as Allen Stritzinger is removed from the three way “OR” listing at the position. This may also be partly due to Ifeatu Melifonwu getting healthy at corner, freeing up some of his duties in that regard as well.
