Despite losing three straight games now, the Syracuse Orange found themselves to be 2.5-point favorites when the betting line opened for Saturday’s game against the Boston College Eagles — according to VegasInsider.
While SU’s certainly struggled quite a bit, they’ve been competitive in two of the last three and the defense has actually looked alright while the offense continues to sputter. On Boston College’s end, they’ve lost three of four, including a 59-7 drubbing at Clemson on Saturday. However, QB Anthony Brown is out for the year, the defense has looked poor and it’s basically the A.J. Dillon show on offense.
Still, that only inspires enough confidence for Syracuse to basically get a home bump.
These teams have played a few close games since SU joined the ACC back in 2013, and the Orange have actually won all of those (34-31 in 2013, 20-17 in 2015, and 28-20 in 2016). The last two contests have been blowouts, though, with each team taking one.
Pretty interesting line to start this one, as it’s basically made it a push and will encourage action on both sides, largely from people who are very low on BC or SU.
Any brave soul here been wagering on the Orange lately?
