Syracuse Orange men’s basketball will send representation to Charlotte on Tuesday when the ACC opens its inaugural 20-game season. Today, the ACC announced that Elijah Hughes and Marek Dolezaj will join Jim Boeheim on their lone trip to North Carolina before the conference tournament in Greensboro.
This is the first time it has occurred. Was impossible in the double round robin years (1955-2004), and didn't happen in either 1954 or in the expansion era (since 2005). https://t.co/lieRSm99Q1

In recent years, Tyus Battle and Frank Howard dominated the opening press conference. We’ll see the rest of the Orange for SU’s media day and scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 11.
This year, Hughes prepares to take over Syracuse’s offense, and Media day will mark his first day as the player’s central spokesperson, sure to draw the scrums in every press setting to follow. Dolezaj missed every game on the Italy trip, and his participation ended early with Team Slovakia due to a broken finger. We’ll hear more about how his summer went and what he focused on after the injury.
Each team sends two players to media day, though Notre Dame’s only named one so far. So we’ll see who the mystery player winds up being for the Irish come next week.
