It’s a little later than usual, but nonetheless, the Syracuse Orange football team has announced what they’ll be wearing for Friday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Panthers: the “classic” home uniform set: orange helmets, blue jerseys, orange pants.
The departure from the usual reveal timing 2-3 days beforehand, briefly fueled some speculation that something special could be in store against long-time football foe Pitt. However, that ended up not being the case here as SU repeats the uniform combination from the Clemson game in mid-September. It’s the first time Syracuse is repeating a uniform combo this year.
Syracuse is 2-2 wearing orange helmets so far this season, while they’re 1-1 with blue jerseys and 1-2 wearing orange pants. The Orange haven’t had to wear their road white jerseys since week two, with four of five at home since — and the road game at NC State featured the Pack wearing all white.
No announcement for Pitt’s uniforms that I’ve seen, but we’ll likely see the standard road set (so white jerseys).
