Each week, we’ll take a look at what other college football media sites are saying about the Syracuse Orange. Let’s see what things look like after the loss to the N.C. State Wolfpack
ESPN
In this week’s SP+ rankings Syracuse drops one place to 66th with the offense dropping nine to 80th while the defense moves up 15 places to 50th. The Pittsburgh Panthers are 53rd this week- 114th in offense and 11th in defense.
ESPN’s ACC power rankings have the Orange 12th in the league ahead of only the Virgnia Tech Hokies and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Pitt is 4th this week so a win by Syracuse would push them up a bit in this ACC list.
The Football Power Index has Syracuse up two spots to 66th behind NC State and ahead of the Purdue Boilermakers.
Syracuse.com
Chris Carlson drop Syracuse three spots to eleventh in his ACC Power Rankings this week placing them just ahead of the Virginia Tech Hokies.
“Syracuse is one of just two teams in the ACC without a Power-Five win, dropping it to a season-worst ranking. Even worse, the Orange has averaged 12 points against that peer competition and is now the front-runner for the most disappointing team in the ACC.”
CBS Sports’ 1-130 drops Syracuse 11 spots to 66th between the Colorado Buffaloes and Southern Miss Golden Eagles. CBS has Pitt 37th this week.
The Athletic dropped the Orange two spots again this week to 63rd in their Top 130 Power Rankings keeping them in between the N.C. State Wolfpack and Nebraska Cornhuskers. Pitt is ranked 42nd this week.
