The last time these two teams played each other, Syracuse guard Tiana Mangakahia had a record setting night. She scored a career-high 44 points versus the Yellow Jackets, one point shy of tying the program record set by Alexis Peterson in 2017. Mangakahia made a program record 20 free throws and scored 29 of her 44 points in the second half.

Head Coaches: SU: Quentin Hillsman (13th season, 278-138); GT: MaChelle Joseph (16th season, 306-197)

Coach Bio: In her first 15 seasons as the head coach of Georgia Tech, Joseph has led the Yellow Jackets to seven NCCA appearances and 10 seasons of 20 wins or me. She is winningest coach in program history and led the Yellow Jackets to its only Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2012.

Last year, Georgia Tech finished 20-14, and made it to the third round of the WNIT, before falling to Alabama.

“Fear Me, I’ve Killed Hundreds of Timelords”: Elizabeth Balogun is the Wreck’s most consistent and dangerous scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game on the season. She hits about 46 percent of her shots overall, and 37.6 percent from outside (on 101 attempts). Balogun also rebounds well and is among the team leaders in both blocks and steals. If Tech pulls off the win, you’ll probably be looking at her as the source of the spark.

If Syracuse wins: The Orange are currently on a nine game winning-streak and with a victory on Sunday afternoon versus the Yellow Jackets, Syracuse will have its first double-digit streak of the season. The team will also improve to 5-0 in the ACC, with important games left on its schedule. With a win SU could be ranked in the top-10 for the first time in program history. The #9 ranked Maryland Terrapins and #11 ranked Texas Longhorns lost earlier this week, meaning Syracuse could be playing for a spot in the top-10 versus the Yellow Jackets.

If Syracuse loses: If the Orange lose to Georgia Tech it will be a disappointing defeat, but the team will still be 4-1 in conference play. If SU falls on Sunday, they will have three games to regroup before they have to travel to Louisville to take on the No. 4-ranked Cardinals.

Prediction: Syracuse 84, Georgia Tech 68
