Dorian Hewett, a three-star DB from North Shore Senior High School (Tex.), has announced his decommitment from the Syracuse Orange on his personal Twitter.

Hewett has been committed to SU since attending a camp at the school in July. However, after being the only verbal commit in the 2019 class to not sign an NLI with the Orange, Hewett received a late offer from Utah, and took an official visit there this weekend. Liberty also offered Hewett after the Early Signing Period.
Hewett helped to lead his high school team to a 16-0 season, culminating in a state championship.
While there still is a chance that Hewett would re-up with Syracuse, Utah appears to be the favorite at the moment. Hewett’s high school teammate Kee’yon Stewart was also in Salt Lake this past weekend.
Syracuse’s class still stands at 17, but Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com has speculated that the Orange are likely to add up to five more scholarship players before next fall. Nadarius Fagan has also announced he’ll be transferring, which will open yet another spot on the roster for this 2019 class (or it’ll be carried over for 2020).
