Syracuse vs. Florida State: Orange open as 2.5-point underdogs

Feels weird that this was surprising.

NCAA Football: Wagner at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange will open as 2.5-point underdogs against the Florida State Seminoles this Saturday, according to early Las Vegas betting lines.

SU started around 2-/3-point underdogs at most locations, and has shifted between those two “poles” ever since. It’s strange, but FSU being favored is almost surprising after how the Seminoles’ season started (including last night’s 10-point win in a struggle versus Samford). ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Orange a 57 percent chance to win this one right now.

For the gamblers among us looking for some background data, Syracuse is 2-0 against the spread this season, while Florida State is 0-2. Last season, SU was 6-5-1 against the spread and in 2016, they were 5-7. So Dino’s 13-12-1 against the spread since arriving on the Hill.

Also: No over/under yet, but whatever it is, would fork over every dime you have on the over given how these two secondaries have played.
