TNIAAM Week 2 College Football Poll Results

Just three voters this past week, so one outlier poll could have a major impact on where teams stand. And despite a minimal number of upsets in week one's action, there was plenty of movement reflected in the rankings this time around.

Also receiving vote: Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Hawaii, Cincinnati, New Mexico, Boston College

Conferences: B1G (6), SEC (6), Pac-12 (4), ACC (3), Big 12 (3), AAC (1), Independent (1), MWC (1)

Dropped out: Michigan State (18), Texas (19), Florida State (21), Arizona (23), FAU (24)

Some other facts about the votes:

  • Seven different teams got votes among the top four on at least one ballot
  • The SEC has the most top 10 teams of any conference, with three
  • 13 different teams received at least one top-10 vote
  • Alabama (obviously) had the shortest range between its highest and lowest vote, since it received all three first-place votes
  • Mississippi State had the longest range between its highest and lowest vote, at 11th and unrated
  • Two voters (Orangeman and myself) both picked Hawaii at 24th -- but that wasn't enough to get them into this poll; same goes for Syracuse (Orangeman, HighSocks21), which received two different selections at 23rd
  • 18 teams appeared on all three ballots
  • HighSocks21 was the only voter to rank Cincinnati and New Mexico
  • Orangeman was the only voter to rank Oklahoma State and Boston College
  • I was the only voter to have all teams appear on at least one other ballot
  • I was also the only voter to have Wisconsin and Georgia in my top four; HighSocks21 was the only one to include Ohio State
  • There were five different ties: Notre Dame and Washington (8th), USC and LSU (13th), Boise State and Virginia Tech (17th), Mississippi State and Penn State (19th); Maryland, Northwestern and Oklahoma State (24th)
