Get to Know Your Orange Man: #58, OL Ryan Kisselstein

The local walk-on joins the team he’s always rooted for.

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Ryan Kisselstein

Year: Freshman

Position: Offensive line

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 275

Hometown: Syracuse, N.Y.

High School: Corcoran

2017 stats: He was a starter for Corcoran, getting nods for all-league and All-CNY teams.

2018 projections: He’s a walk-on and a freshman, so seems unlikely we see much of him this year.

How’d he get here?: Kisselstein was ready to play tight end for Alfred University, then he got an opportunity to walk on for his boyhood favorite team, the Syracuse Orange, so that settled that.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Nothing. Alas...

Money quote: The local standout plays numerous sports and didn’t always think football was going to be an option for him.

“Last year, I didn’t really see myself going anywhere for football. Then I started getting talked to by a few coaches. My senior year, I just figured why not go all out.”

Tweets of wonder: Move-in day!

What movie would Dino recommend?: If Dino caught any movies this summer, perhaps he caught Ryan Reynolds in “Deadpool 2.” That or the first “Deadpool” could fit the bill — assuming Kisselstein’s already 18 and can legally watch the R-rated comedy/superhero film.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Ryan’s big into robotics, and traveled with the Corcoran team. Fittingly, he’s in the engineering school.

Let’s get a good look at ya: Here’s some basketball highlights to show his athleticism.
