Name: Qadir White
Year: Freshman
Position: Offensive tackle
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 334 lbs.
Hometown: Bronx, N.Y.
High School: Cardinal Hayes
2017 stats: He was a U.S. Army All-American Bowl nominee and helped lead his team to an 8-2 record and a berth in the CHSFL Class AAA semifinals.
2018 projections: Don’t expect much from him this year. I see a redshirt season since he arrived late and there’s also a lot of experience for the Syracuse Orange on the line right now.
How’d he get here?: He committed to Syracuse back in 2017 before his senior season. He chose the Orange over Boston College, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), and Rutgers. He didn’t arrive on campus until early August after he finally finished his summer class.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Four stars from 247sports and three stars from Rivals and ESPN. 247 said he was the 187th-best player in the nation.
Twitterfeed: @QadirWhite (his account is private)
Tweets of wonder: Hallelujah!
While you wait for this commitment announcement, Syracuse fans, some good news: highly touted OT signee Qadir White is on his way up for preseason camp, per his HS coach. His enrollment was delayed by a summer class.

Likely to redshirt this fall, but has a high ceiling.
What movie would Dino recommend?: The 2004 comedy (?), White Chicks stars the Wayans brothers, Terry Crews, and many others. It’s funny if you have the sense of humor of a 13-year old, but other than that, don’t watch it.
Interesting nugget’o interest: He was a thrower for his high school track and field team.
Let’s get a good look at ya: Here he is working with first team offensive lineman.
Trying one more time: a look at OL going through run-blocking drills. That’s freshman OT Qadir White (76) working with veterans Cody Conway and Aaron Roberts. OL coach Mike Cavanaugh came over to provide a brief lesson on footwork. pic.twitter.com/8CMQRgpVew
