Syracuse football recruiting: 3-star WR Nazir Burnett commits

The recent run of recruiting success continues this week.

It’s been a busy week on the Syracuse Orange football recruiting front and that continued on Friday when SU got its latest commitment, from wide receiver Nazir Burnett.

Burnett is a three-star receiver from Bishop McDevitt High School (Harrisburg, Pa.) and comes in at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, according to 247Sports. While 247 currently ranks him in the 1000s on the overall list for 2019, he had a bunch of offers from schools like Michigan State, Boston College, Pitt, Rutgers and West Virginia (among others) — so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him rise a bit as the cycle goes on.

With Burnett’s addition, Syracuse’s 2019 recruiting class is now up to 12. Burnett is the second player from Pennsylvania in this cycle, along with fellow three-star wideout Courtney Jackson. That also makes him the second receiver in this class, and third pass-catcher along with tight end Luke Benson.

With four commits this past week — Burnett, Dorian Hewett, Garrett Williams and Ishmael Goulbourne — this group is really rounding into form now as we get close to the season.

Highlights for Nazir below. Welcome aboard!
