Syracuse football bowl watch, Week 1: SU’s Quest for Gasparilla begins

Before the Orange even take a snap, plenty of media outlets have made their bowl predictions. How many of them see Dino Babers taking ‘Cuse bowling?

Every year, we, the fans of Syracuse Orange football, set a simple goal for the season: to go bowling. To put on goofy shoes and travel to “exotic” lands such as Houston or New York (at least lately) with the goal of winning oversized trophies. In the past, this site has taken up this charge as the Quest for Beef. As the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl has left us, we at TNIAAM needed a new purpose for bowl possibilities. Of course, we turn to that game’s spiritual successor...

I humbly present to you our charge for this year: THE QUEST FOR GASPARILLA!

Even if the Orange don’t get to participate in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl (as is their given right) and are granted entry to another, inferior bowl, we will celebrate the quest as completed. So how’s that looking?

Disloyal Idiots include CBS Sports, Bleacher Report, Athlon, Sporting News, and USA Today.

“Not great, Bob!”

I’m on record saying that I think that 6-6 and a bowl is attainable. Do not let me down, boys. Seeing Dino Babers dressed as a pirate is my new favorite dream.
