Name: Tre Allison
Position: Linebacker
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 230
Hometown: Tyler, Tex.
High School: John Tyler
2017 stats: As a senior at John Tyler High, Allison had 89 tackles and two picks and also earned some all-district accolades.
2018 projections: With a transition to a 4-2-5 scheme and the Syracuse Orange having a lot of young linebackers waiting in the wings, Allison seems likely to redshirt (though he’s certainly the right size to jump in right away).
How’d he get here?: He was a late flip from SMU this past cycle, and also had offers in-hand from Mississippi State, Arkansas State, Texas State and UL-Lafayette.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Everyone gave him three stars — even ESPN, which waited until late in the process to provide a rating.
Money quote: Straight from Tre when he flipped to Syracuse —
“I am grateful to God for the blessing of a passion and talent for football, a gift that has afford me access to scholarships for a superior university education.”

Tweets of wonder: That’s pretty cool, from Allison’s coach at John Tyler. Q, though: Does the committee know about this?
Look what I found in my closet at my mother's house...I got this jersey when I went on official visit to Syracuse in 1997...Wow how time flies @Allison_Tre @CoachBabersCuse @BWardDCoord

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Allison Janney’s been in quite a few films, including 2011’s critically acclaimed “The Help” and her Oscar-award winning performance in “I, Tonya.” Let’s go with the latter, since it’s more recent.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Though Allison and fellow 2018 Syracuse signee Chance Amie played at rival schools, they signed with SU at the same event this past December.
Let’s get a good look at ya: Signing Day highlights, of course.
