Get to Know Your Orange Man: #37, DB Kevin Nusdeo

Syracuse needs secondary help, so walk-ons are welcome, too.

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Kevin Nusdeo

Position: Defensive back

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 200

Hometown: Orange, Conn.

High school: Choate Rosemary Hall

2017 stats: Redshirt season after joining the team in the fall.

2018 projection: Could potentially help out on special teams. But it would take quite a few injuries to scholarship defensive backs to hear Nusdeo’s number called at safety or corner.

How’d he get here?: Nusdeo decided that the Syracuse Orange were his program of choice despite other preferred walk-on offers from schools like UConn and North Carolina. He also had DII and DIII offers.

What did recruiting sites say?: No notes to be had. Rude.

Money quote: Seems Dino’s stress of “La Familia” is obvious to players when they arrive at SU (per Nusdeo’s conversation with Syracuse.com):

“I loved everything about the visit. I could tell that the staff is extremely dedicated to all their players and I loved how tight knit the Syracuse community was.”

Tweets of wonder: “The more you know...”

What movie would Dino recommend for him: There are quite a few famous Kevins in Hollywood, but we’ll go with Kevin Costner here. Babers recommends “The Bodyguard,” for the defensive back as a source of inspiration.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Nusdeo would’ve been a legacy at UNC, after his dad played football there in the 1980s. This fall’s matchup at the Carrier Dome will be a family affair.

Let’s get a good look at ya:
