Get to Know Your Orange Man: #40, RB Luke Erickson

The walk-on running back get his first chance to see the field.

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Luke Erickson

Position: Running back

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 213

Hometown: Greene, N.Y.

High school: Greene

2017 stats: He redshirted last year.

2018 projection: Don’t expect much out of him this year. Maybe, down the line, he could contribute on special teams, but that’s not a guarantee.

How’d he get here?: After being recruited by Georgetown (boo), Colgate and Penn, he tore his ACL in his final high school game. So, when other schools pulled back, he reached out to Dino who was on board.

What did recruiting sites say?: Nothing.

Money quote: Seems he was meant to be Orange, as he explained to Syracuse.com.

“I always loved Syracuse football growing up so when I injured my knee and other schools started to back off with recruiting, I just put my name out to the staff.”

Twitter: @luke_eickson21

Tweets of wonder: Presented without context.

What movie would Dino recommend for him: Any of the Star Wars episodes four, five, or six, which feature LUKE Skywalker as the main character. That one was too easy.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Both his parents were Syracuse Orange student-athletes. His mom played Field Hockey from 1988-1991 and his dad was an offensive lineman from 1986-1990.

Let’s get a good look at ya:
