With Boeheim’s Army advancing once more in The Basketball Tournament after yesterday’s win over Armored Athlete, the former Syracuse Orange players will get a chance to play for a Final Four berth against the Golden Eagles. Mostly comprised of former Marquette players, you’ll be sure to recognize a few names on the opposing side today.
Travis Diener was on that ‘03 Marquette squad with D-Wade that lost to Kansas in the National Semis. Jerel McNeal played from 2005-2009 and Maurice Acker played from 2007-2010 after transferring from Ball State.
The troika of Jake Thomas and both Jamil and Derrick Wilson were all members of that ‘13 team that lost to Syracuse in the Elite 8.

Interestingly enough, I couldn’t find any player on the Golden Eagles roster that was eligible during the 2010-2011 season, the one in which Syracuse lost to Marquette in the Round of 32.
Anyway, let’s just hope Darius Johnson-Odom (2011) and Davante Gardner (2013) are unavailable today.
The game tips off at the same time and same place as yesterday (1 pm, Georgia State) and will air on ESPN.
For those not in Atlanta, feel free to get it started in the comment section below and share where you’re taking in the action.
Go ‘Cuse! (Also, J Peezy will be making an appearance today!)
