GameThread: #1 Boeheim’s Army vs. #17 South Jamaica Kings

If you’re not in Brooklyn tonight (or even if you are), we’ll be chatting TBT here.

The Basketball Tournament’s already in full swing, but for Boeheim’s Army, it really begins on Saturday evening.

Friday’s night’s action included a 73-68 win for No. 17 South Jamaica Kings over the No. 16 Philadelphia Stars, so the Kings now face the Syracuse Orange alumni squad at LIU-Brooklyn. Andy mentioned the Kings haven’t yet made it past the first weekend of TBT, but do feature a few key players like Iyoha Agho (NYU) and Cameron Tyler (Farleigh Dickinson).

Over on the Boeheim’s Army side of things, you’re already well familiarized with the cast of characters. Along with a lengthy list of shooters (James Southerland, Eric Devendorf, Demetris Nichols, Hakim Warrick, John Gillon), Boeheim’s Army should also have more strength in the paint than most. DaShonte Riley returns from last year’s squad, but the team also made a late addition in Arinze Onuaku this year, after Paul Harris had to bow out.

Festivities get started at 6:50 p.m. ET. You can catch the game streaming on WatchESPN if you’re not already in attendance. Winner of this game will get the winner of the late tip between No. 8 Team Fancy and No. 9 Saints Alive (Siena).
