Get to Know Your Orange Man: #32, DB Allen Stritzinger

Position ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...

NCAA Football: Virginia Tech at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Allen Stritzinger

Position: Defensive Back

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 188

Hometown: Detroit

High School: De La Salle

2017 stats: As a special teamer on the kick return team, Stritzinger appeared in 9 games for the Syracuse Orange. He was star off the field, making the Honor Roll.

2018 projections: After facing a real challenge for playing time in the backfield, Stritzinger could figure into nickel and dime package rotations in non-conference play. If he does well there, he could be playing more regularly during conference play on defensive along with his special team duties.

How’d he get here?: After a bunch of MAC schools officially offered and some unofficial visits to Michigan, Strizinger chose the Orange.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Most said three stars, but ESPN said two (boooooo).

Money Quote: The Orange were always high on Allen’s list.

“I have picked up a few new offers, mostly from MAC schools, but I really like Syracuse.”

Tweets of wonder: YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT, ALLEN.

What movie would Dino Babers recommend?: The Toy Story Franchise was one of my favorites as a child. It stars Tim Allen as Buzz Light Year.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Worried about Stritzinger’s transition to defensive back? Don’t be. Michigan had an offer on the table for him to play defensive back, but he chose Syracuse because he wanted to try and stick it out in the backfield.

Let’s get a good look at ya: Let’s hear what the staff thought of him last year.
