The Syracuse Orange men’s rowing team battled some tough conditions last weekend at the IRA Regatta in New Jersey. Despite windy weather, Syracuse was able to place all three of their eights boats in the top 10 which was the goal of Head Coach Dave Reischmann heading into the competition.

The Varsity Eight placed second in the petite final and eight overall while the second varsity eight (9th) and third varsity eight. Syracuse scored 122 points for a 9th place finish in the overall team competition. Last year the Orange were 12th and the 3 spot jump tied Syracuse for the most improved team this year. The Ten Eyck Trophy was won by the Washington Huskies who scored 211 points to edge out the Yale Bulldogs.

Syracuse ends the season ranked 8th in the final US Rowing Coaches Poll but several members of the team will be heading to the Henley Royal Regatta next month. The Orange heading to Henley will be sporting these incredible blazers, which really should be available at the SU Bookstore.
