Is this the year we see “The Menace from Venice” unleashed?

Name: Aaron Hackett

Position: Tight End

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 234

Hometown: Venice, FL

High School: Venice High School

2017 Stats: Played in nine games for the Syracuse Orange last year, and the majority of his snaps came on special teams. Like most of us reading this, Hackett did not catch a pass in 2017.

2018 Projections: Hackett should get some playing time on offense this year. He’s listed as the #2 TE on the depth chart and with the Orange looking to replace a lot of receptions, someone with his athletic ability should get some opportunities.

How’d He Get Here?: He came from high-scoring, fast-paced offense at Venice and chose the Orange over South Florida, Louisville, Central Florida, Wake Forest and Kentucky.

What’d Recruiting Sites Say?: Two As, Two Ts. Three stars.

Money Quote: From Reno Ferri on Signing Day 2017, when talking about what stood out when recruiting Hackett:

“With Aaron, everything caught my eye”

Let’s just move on...

Tweets Of Wonder: (Nodding head in agreement)

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Feels like Dino would suggest “The French Connection” starring Gene Hackman and then Aaron would understand why the coach has been calling him Popeye.

Interesting Nugget O’Interest: Aaron’s position coach in high school was former Orange tight end Beckett Wales.

Let’s Get A Good Look Atcha:
