Get to Know Your Orange Man: #50, LS Aaron Bolinsky

The long snapper enters his first year with Syracuse.

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Aaron Bolinsky

Year: Freshman

Position: Long snapper

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 210

Hometown: Schuylkill Haven, Penn.

High School: North Schuylkill

2017 Stats: As a team captain in his senior year, he was named to the 2017 Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) “Dream Team” and selected as the SCFCA Offensive Lineman of the Year after leading North Schuylkill to an appearance in the District 11 Class 3A playoffs. Nice work, Aaron!

2018 projection: As a preferred walk-on sitting behind scholarship Syracuse Orange long snapper Matt Keller, don’t expect to see much of him in his first year. Yet, down the line, he may be SU’s future long snapper (since Keller graduates after this season).

How’d he get here?: He committed last summer and enrolled for the second semester of the 2017-18 school year.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Not much.

Money Quote: Last year, he talked to his hometown paper about why he picked Syracuse so early.

“I feel that leaving early was the best decision for me and my family. Going to the program early, getting a head start with the classes, that way when the season comes around I’m not scrambling, having to learn the process of how college works.”

Tweets of wonder: You have to love his passion.

What movie would Dino recommend for him? The 2008 Batman movie “The Dark Knight,” stars Aaron Eckhart and seems right up his alley. It’s one of my favorite super hero films.

Interesting nugget o’interest: He attended the same high school (Blue Mountain) as former Syracuse center Jason Emerich.

Let’s get a good look at ya: He’s already at work with punter/all-around awesome Sterling Hofrichter.
