Get to Know Your Orange Man: #57, OG Dakota Davis

The Maryland native is coming off of a redshirt season.

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Dakota Davis

Position: Offensive Guard

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 335

Hometown: Mount Airy, Md.

High School: Glenelg

2017 Statts: Redshirt season, but he was selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll, so there’s that.

2018 projections: I’m not expecting much out of Davis this season. He may see a few appearances here and there, but not as a starter with a group of veteran linemen in front of him.

How’d he get here: He received offers from UConn, Air Force and Ohio, so the Syracuse Orange were a pretty logical choice.

What’d recruiting sites say?: 3-stars!

Money Quote: That does seem... fun. (from a chat he had with the Baltimore Sun while he was still in high school)

“Yeah, well, this is all downhill-type of football and I’ll throw a body on someone if I have to. It’s fun to pancake people and break other people’s will play after play.”

Tweets of wonder: More of a retweeter than a tweeter, but here’s what Dino had to say about him.

What movie would Dino recommend for him: The 1945 Western, “Dakota,” stars John Wayne. Never seen it, but if it has John Wayne I’m sure it’s a movie you should watch.

Interesting nugget o’interest: After he graduates, Davis wants to become a physicians assistant, per an interview with the Baltimore Sun.

Let’s get a good look at you: No video from his freshman year, so here are some highlights from the Washington D.C. Nike Opening event.
