Name: Aaron Roberts
Position: Offensive Guard
Year: (Redshirt) Senior
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 311
Hometown: Chicago
High School: De La Salle Institute
2017 stats: Roberts missed the entire campaign due to a torn ACL suffered in conditioning last preseason. His absence was felt, as the offensive line was light on guard depth and we saw the limited success running inside last season.
2018 projections: Roberts has bulked up (up almost 30 lbs from this time last year) and will be an anchor on the Syracuse Orange offensive line. His presence will go a long way toward protecting the quarterback, allowing to more traditional quick drop-backs, and hopefully open up a more straight-forward run game.
How’d he get here?: Roberts picked Syracuse over offers from Illinois, Ball State and New Mexico.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from most, but just two stars from Scout.
Money Quote: Gotta love the optimism (and let’s hope it comes to fruition).
“We’ve tasted greatness. Once you taste that, we feel like we can beat any team -- we don’t care who it is.
... If you beat Clemson, you know what you can do. We can win the national championship. I don’t care; I’ll say it. We want to go to a bowl game, but I want more than a bowl game. I’m trying to really shock the country. That’s what we’ve been talking about as an offense.”

Tweets of Wonder: Someone felt for J.R. after, well... you know.
I rock with JR for tonight. ✊

What Movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: “Blues Brothers.” Roberts is a huge Chicago fan in all sports, and he and fellow Chicagoan redshirt senior Chris Slayton are on a mission to get ‘Cuse back to the postseason.
Interesting Nugget O’Interest: Roberts didn’t start playing football until freshman year of high school. And he quickly turned into a quality blocker on the line at that level and this one, too.
Let’s Get A Good Look Atcha: Zaire + Aaron = Good times.
