Get to Know Your Orange Man: #60, OT Cody Conway

He’s the man in charge of protecting Eric Dungey.

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Cody Conway

Position: Left Tackle

Year: (Redshirt) Senior

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 300

Hometown: Plainfield, Ill.

High School: Plainfield North

2017 Stats: He started all 12 games at left tackle for the Syracuse Orange. Conway also played 1,030 snaps and was credited with 31 knockdown blocks. He also recorded four touchdown-creating blocks.

2018 Projectionns: Expect the same and maybe even more out of Conway this season. He is a lock to start at left tackle and will thusly be responsible for protecting Eric Dungey’s blind side. In the ACC, he’ll be going up against some of the best defensive linemen in the country, like Clelin Ferrell. If Dungey is going to play a full season, Conway will be one of the people responsible for it.

How’d he get here: Conway got offers from Big Ten bottom feeders Illinois and Rutgers, so the choice wasn’t too difficult to come to Syracuse.

What’d recruiting sites say? 3 stars!

Money Quote: We certainly hope you’re right, Cody.

“I think we can be a lot better than last year.”

Tweets of wonder: You know he won the MVP in Oklahoma City, right?

What movie would Dino recommend for him? The 2007 comedy “Juno” is not exactly what I consider quality cinema, but it was written by another Cody Conway. It won a bunch of awards and other people seem to like it, but it wasn't up my alley. Guess I’m not a Michael Cera fan.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Conway was a four-year basketball player in high school.

Let’s get a good look at ya: Here’s an interview with Cody after a practice last August.
