Get to Know Your Orange Man: #81, WR Cameron Jordan

Another young receiver to watch as SU replaces last year’s production.

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Cameron Jordan

Position: Wide receiver

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 203

Hometown: Wheatley Heights, N.Y.

High School: Half Hollow Hills West

2017 stats: N/A, since he redshirted

2018 projection: Jordan is a big, speedy target who could potentially get some burn on the outside this year. Summer will sort things out a bit more, but don’t be surprised to see him getting reps and catching 10-15 balls.

How’d he get here: Cameron said no thanks to schools like Boston College, Temple, Wake Forest, UConn and others to stay in-state with the Syracuse Orange.

What’d recruiting sites say: 3 stars from 247Sports and ESPN, but just two from Rivals (what gives?).

Money quote: Dino Babers’s system sells SU pretty well, according to Jordan:

“When I saw that the receivers were making big plays — they threw the ball deep, over the middle, just passing the ball all over, I was like, ‘This is where I want to be,’ “

Twitterfeed: @Cam_J1

Tweets of interest: Dino, you missed a “Strong Island” reference here.

What movie would Dino recommend for him: Why not a film featuring another (unrelated) Jordan, “Space Jam?” Everyone’s favorite Michael Jordan movie also features Bugs Bunny, the rest of the Looney Tunes, cartoon aliens, Patrick Ewing and Bill Murray. It’s great.

Interesting Nugget O‘Interest: He shares a full name with current New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan. Tight end Jordan Cameron retired last year, so that should help remove confusion when SU’s Cameron Jordan gets to the NFL.

Let’s get a good look at ya: High school highlights!!! (AIRHOOOOOORN)
