Name: Nykeim Johnson
Position: Wide receiver
Year: Sophomore
Height: 5-8
Weight: 173 lbs.
Hometown: Washington D.C. (DC-to-Cuse gang!)
High School: Friendship Academy
2017 stats: He appeared in 11 games and caught eight balls for 68 yards. He also had two carries for six yards and four kickoff returns for 91 yards (22.8 average).
2018 projection: He will probably play a lot in the slot, where he is able to use his small stature and lighitning speed to burn linebackers and safeties. I say he catches something around 30 balls for 500 yards and three scores. He could end up being one of the Orange’s deep ball threats.
How’d he get here: He picked the Syracuse Orange over UVA, Army, Navy, and a bunch of other schools. Not a difficult choice, in my opinion.
What’d recruiting sites say: 3-stars all around
Twitterfeed: @THAREALNJII
Tweets of interest: Have to agree with Julian here, Nykeim will have a much larger role this year.
Wideouts: Can’t stress enough how important this spring is for this group. Who’s gonna be the guy? Butler has stressed improvement and Cordy will need to learn quickly. One thing I know—Nykeim Johnson is going to make noise this year. Routes? Hands? Beautiful. pic.twitter.com/TLN81BS6Hc

What movie would Dino recommend for him: The 2015 film “San Andreas” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock plays, surprise, the tough guy who is ridiculously athletic for his age and does some things impossible without CGI. Overall, a 6/10.
Interesting nugget o interest: He ran track in high school and was actually quite good at it. He placed third in the 100 meters at the 2015 DCSAA Outdoor Championship with a time of 11.07 seconds.
Let’s get a good look at ya: Here is a look at this guy’s blazing fast speed from his time in high school.
